Auspicious day-My unfortunate day? I choose to ignore that, yet seriously i do have to believe in it. The vice versus does not change for me either. Inauspicious day also my bad luck day! Maybe slightly better...haha.

Today is my friend (the bride) wedding day. However even before attending her dinner reception this evening, I'm already on my journey towards a series of unfortunate events.

Can you believe i get blisters from wearing snickers? Even i don't wanna believe it! I trade my slippers for it..why? My slippers stain my foot...who would believe this too? BUT YES! it does leave patches of black shadows on my foot for no apparent reason ("~) On the positive outlook, i should invest in more Adidas snickers (Sponsors?).

I thought this was already bad enough, yet more are awaiting me....

I gave my colleague coins to buy me a packet of chrysanthemum from the vending machine & the drink got STUCK! Alright i will not be fuming if this is the 1st time. BUT that happen damn often! Once my drink came out without the straw when obviously it was there. The dumping effect is so huge my straw flew off when it landed. In the end, although i have my drink i can only see (".!) AND there is this tibits machine that goes haywire...as expected my tibits never came.

In fact, i have a feeling that my preparation for tonight's dinner is going to be a disaster too. I'm trying to keep my cool...but the question is how long?

YES! I'm catching "Design for Living" on 30 January 2009 @ Esplanade Theatre by Edward Lam Dance Theatre (Hong Kong/Taiwan). The play has a nice synopsis & best of all it is starring Joseph Cheng! Something to look forward to for the New Year *V*.

Synopsis: Survival calls for intelligence while living requires wisdom. A female boss feels threatened by a rumour. To secure her position and power, she begins to play mind games with others in her office, stirring up a hornets’ nest. Who will be the ultimate winner in the ensuing struggle for love, wealth and power? Created by the director of the highly-lauded What is Man? in Huayi 2008, the eminent Edward Lam, this theatre piece humourously portrays the struggle that urban people today go through when faced with the myriad challenges and complexities of survival and living.

A wedding protrait of my sister & her husband. The orignal photo doesn't look this way, i created the effect in as a present for her birthday...Nice? Wanted it to be vintage/old looking...How abt this one? Sketching IS not done by me but the computer :P Haha now working, have no time to sketch anymore compare to before. Well at least my effort counts in making it perfect through the computer.

My oldest sister got her long awaited rest, thanks to her wedding which is going to be held this Saturday, 06 December 2008 @ Rendezvous Hotel. In order to make this day a perfect one, my sister started her preparation 6 mths ago. Let me see...what actually goes on behind the untold/unrevealed scenes?

The House
1) A Roof--- Settling HDB loan problems, Getting agent to look out for suitable flats, viewing & negotiating prices.
2) Renovation--- Choosing designer & contractor, brainstorm ideas, designs & requirements,
choosing wall colours, sourcing for furniture & appliances...
3) Monitoring--- Random checks on renovation progress & touch-up for areas which are lacking in expectation. Last minute changes if necessary...
4) Decorating--- Mopping and cleaning, getting furniture into respective places (Finally a home!)

The Wedding Dress
1) Find a studio--- Attending wedding exhibitions, finding the best studio & negotiating prices
2) Find the dresses--- Go for fitting & selecting dresses for day, night, outdoor, tea ceremony etc, dresses adjustment.
3) Flower--- Choose the flower bouquet.
4) Where's the shoe?--- Finding & buying shoes that matches the dresses & occasion.
5) Photo me?--- Hairstyling & makeup, studio & outdoor shoots.

The Venue
1) Find the place--- Another round of attending exhibitions, choosing the right location & date for the wedding. Negotiating prices & discussing no. of tables, decorations etc
2) Venue check--- Meeting the event manager, viewing the halls, hotel room...
3) Food tasting--- Food test for the menu on the BIG day.

Basically, these are the major concerns & they take up precious time. Not to mention, there are also visits between both side parents, traditional ritual & processes along the way, sending cards & confirming guests list, seating arrangement planning...
Most importantly, during this joyous season for the couple, that become my partial nightmare! I have to play the role of an adviser, sister (actual & wedding day), coolie (carrying stuffs) & painter (our house).

Eww...wedding is such a hassle!!! I told my sister in a frustrating voice. IF i EVER marry, i will definitely skip most of these. Probably a photo shoot & wedding lunch among close relatives & friends & case close! My sisters immediate responses are that my father will want it to be more elaborate. Hee looks like i have to get wed overseas than give everyone a shock upon returning then :P

Welcome
